SNAPPER ‘WAIHEKE KID’ - 2023
‘WAIHEKE KID’ was created in my studio during the stormy weather in mid February 2023. I named him ‘Waiheke Kid’, because I fish a lot around Waiheke. Feeling frustrated that I couldn’t go fishing, I decided to get creative.
I set out to paint a fish that had a markings and texture of a healthy snapper. This fish is 32cm long to the V of the tail. Haha, its legally ‘a keeper’
Waiheke Kid is available to show in a gallery and is for sale. It is supplied with a C section steel base or it can be wall hung. A perfect gift for a fisherman.
Original Snapper not for sale
YELLOWTAIL KINGFISH
This is the 3rd Kingi I have painted. Each differs in colour and texture and each has been an amazing outcome. It’s sister is in my lounge and I may never sell it as I love to look at it every day. It is 75cm long.
Everybody who sees it, immediately says ‘ah a Kingi’ but it is more colourful than the the real fish and this reflects my artistic licence.
I haven’t named this fish. If you want to name him/her, let me know a suitable name.
This original is available and is for sale. It is supplied with a C section steel base or it can be wall hung.
BLUEFIN TUNA ‘PACIFIC BLUE’
I named this Tuna ‘Pacific Blue Boy’ as the upper dorsal fin and tail came out a lovely shade of blue.
Pacific Blue Boy is 71cm long.
These fish are fast, and I wanted to create a sense of speed. I achieved that by the textures on the head and the pectoral fin.
This art work has yet to be photographed by Sait Akkirman and it will be the image that I will use for the next range of Limited Edition of prints.
BARRACUDA TRIO
Barracuda Trio are 3 fish I created in 2020. They are all different in colour and texture. they can be hung as a trio or and singles.
BLACK BARRA SID VICIOUS
Sid was created in 2021 as an abstract art piece inspired by keeping the sheet metal unpainted.
